Mealey's (February 27, 2023, 11:34 AM EST) -- TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A graduate student who filed a putative class complaint against the University of Florida board of trustees for failing to offer on-campus services or refund the related fees in spring 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic hit the United States filed an amended brief on jurisdiction in the Florida Supreme Court arguing that the state’s high court should accept discretionary review of a question certified by an appellate panel concerning sovereign immunity as it was one “of great importance” and because there is an “express and direct conflict . . . between the District Courts.”...
