Judge Cites City Of Flint’s Mismanagement, Orders Enforcement Of Settlement

Mealey's (February 27, 2023, 1:20 PM EST) -- DETROIT — A federal judge in Michigan on Feb. 24 granted the plaintiffs’ fifth motion to enforce an $87 million settlement agreement pertaining to the Flint lead-contaminated water crisis, saying the city could not complain that the remedial measures proposed by the plaintiffs would expand the city’s obligations beyond what is called for in the settlement and would create what the city calls “an intolerable burden” on limited resources.  The judge said the city “put itself in this position by its mismanagement of the service line replacement process.”...
