Agency, Fracking Trade Group Say Case Over Final Rule For Offshore Leasing Fails

( July 9, 2025, 3:09 PM EDT) -- WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) and the American Petroleum Institute (API), which are engaged in a dispute with environmental groups over a final rule issued by the BOEM in 2020 that updated air quality control and reporting and compliance regulations governing oil and gas operations on the Outer Continental Shelf, have filed reply briefs in a federal court in the District of Columbia.
